John is a highly experienced executive who was previously the CEO of several oil and oil sands companies including Petrovera, Harvest Energy and most recently Sunshine Oil Sands. John has experience with Harvest’s Newfoundland refinery as well as numerous oil sands projects. Previously, John had been involved extensively in operations and commercial roles in the oil and gas industry through senior positions at a number of oil and gas companies. He is former President of the Alberta Chamber of Resources and a past Governor of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers. John has a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Calgary and M.Phil. in Management from the University of Oxford.
