Don has 40 years’ experience as a specialist in integrated land management (ILM), combining expertise in forestry, energy sector operations, and site reclamation to minimize impacts and maximize benefits. He began his career with the Government of Alberta as a reclamation officer and forest ranger before joining Alberta-Pacific Forest Industries in 1992. He developed and implemented Al-Pac’s extensive ILM program during a period of massive expansion of oil sands operations in the company’s FMA area. Since 2014, he has provided environmental and reclamation planning and implementation services for pipeline and energy clients such as TransCanada Pipelines and the Alberta Carbon Trunk Pipeline. He is an API Certified Pipeline Inspector and an Alberta Registered Professional Forest Technician, has served on government and industry advisory committees, and delivered papers and presentations on ILM.
