David has extensive business and government experience. David founded the 25 person accounting firm Dorward & Company in the mid ‘90’s, with offices in Edmonton and Calgary. Previous to that he worked with a national trust company in the controller and treasury areas. He was elected in 2012 in Edmonton-Gold Bar as a MLA and served in numerous positions in the government, including as the Associate Minister of Aboriginal Relations. David has made extensive community contributions, including leading the successful efforts to raise funds to build the Saville Community Sports Centre (GO Centre) at the U of A South Campus. The building was a vision of David’s that grew during his time of coaching basketball for 12 years.
