Gerald has extensive experience in the oil industry with a diversified background linking oil sands production, bitumen upgrading, oil refining and technology development to the Alberta oil sands market. Gerald was directly involved with partial upgrading technology development, leading to patents for the MEG HI-Q process. Currently, he is treasurer and past president of the Canadian Crude Quality Technical Association, past president of the Canadian Heavy Oil Association, and has worked as an independent oil sands industry processing consultant to government and industry.
